The Media generally hate Christians but in the deceptively-but-relentless 'joking' way, though there's plenty of other labels from hypocritical liberals who yell down any who disagree with them, all while claiming they are the gods of perfect love and tolerance. The Bible clearly states that 'no man knows the hour or day', so Harold Camping is just another human seeking to make a name for awhile, maybe make some cash along the way. The Bible does clearly say you will have an idea based on the 'weather'.
Here are the facts regarding Biblical 'rapture'. The term itself is not in the Bible. “OOooohhh, you SEE!!”, say atheists and other enlightened leaders, “It’s all a big fantasy and we hate anyone who believes in God so they all must be SHUT UP!”
But why, we shall be strong enough to use our OWN reasonable minds and ask with natural curiosity and not with ingrained bias we gained in school... Why isn't it there? To save myself time I will quote Wikipedia: "Rapture" is an English noun derived from the Latin verb rapiō, with a literal meaning of "I catch up" "or "I snatch" (from the infinitive form of the verb rapere, "to catch up"; "rapture" is also cognate to the English words "rapids", "ravish", and "rape")."
So from the original New Testament Greek we have "ἁρπαγησόμεθα [harpagēsometha], which means "we shall be caught up", "taken away", with the connotation that this is a sudden event. The dictionary form of this Greek verb is harpazō."
So now we've overcome the massive label of syntax, that because 'rapture isn't 'in the Bible', then the ENTIRE Bible can't be true... a typical fallacy any student of logical reasoning will expose.
Also consider that Jesus talks plainly about the 'catching away' or 'snatching away as written by an eyewitness named Matthew': "37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left."

So balancing the honestly exposed extremes of the Media, and anyone whose main agenda is making Christians look like morons, brain-damaged, and whose beliefs should be outlawed and eliminated even in the USA, blah, blah, blah… setting aside blatently obvious yet often unchallenged hypocritical bias toward the Bible and the myriad of evidence for its authentic claims, the fact remains that the Bible clearly states that God has determined to ‘harvest’ (see Matthew 13:36-43) the Earth of those who have turned to Him in belief and acted on His call to ‘be saved’ from Hell.
Amazingly people at large do not consider that there is NO work whatsoever needed to be saved from Hell, that is, all that is needed is accepting what has been paid for already and is now a free gift.
